Assessment Option
Today, many implementation grants for school redesign programs require a commitment to
extensive professional development for school site personnel. In the past, this requirement
was usually met by an educator's attendance at a workshop or presentation. Because
online training can be completed over a period of time, within the confines of an individuals'
schedule, a method of validating the completion of professional development is necessary.
Each online training video has an optional assessment, which can be assigned by a
supervisor. If assigned, a five-question assessment will be activated immediately following
the completion of a video. When the learner earns a passing score (100%) on the
multiple choice test, this information is kept in a running report that can be viewed anytime
by either the teacher or the administrator making the assignment.
Once an educator has completed all assigned videos, a detailed report can be printed
and turned into the appropriate supervisor. This should provide the documentation
necessary for any stipend and/or release time provided by the district or funder.
