Using the Career Choices curriculum, participants will learn how to design a compelling course that will help students visualize and plan for a productive future. They’ll learn strategies for creating a student-centered, active-learning classroom that facilitates the development of a 10-year education and career plan. Upon completion, they’ll have a thorough understanding of the pedagogy behind the course, so they can customize their lesson plans to meet their school’s mandates and goals. |

- The textbook and internet enhancements that make up the Career Choices curriculum
- Why classroom-based comprehensive guidance is needed and how Career Choices can help provide a life-changing experience for students
- Integrating career and life planning into an academic class, such as English/language arts
- The secret to dropout prevention programs that work
- Strategies for a student-centered, active-learning classroom that facilitates the development of a 10-year education and career plan
- Instructional strategies and presentation techniques that work
- A solid understanding of the scope and sequence of the curriculum
- The pedagogy behind that Career Choices curriculum so they can customize lesson plans to meet their program goals
- An appreciation of the power of the Instructor’s Guide

• Each participant creates customized, Excel-formatted lesson plan for a course from 90 to 180 hours, beginning with this 60-hour foundation lesson plan. |
Methods of Evaluating Student Performance
- Each online module has a required five-question assessment that must be completed with 100 percent accuracy
- Completion of the project-based learning assignments, as noted above
